Who we are

ATLAS (France) is a non-profit cultural association that promotes literary translation. It organises multiple events around translation, hosts a one-of-a-kind residency for translators, and develops international cooperation and training programmes for translators.

Agence Karkadé (France) was created in early 2024 by three specialists in cultural cooperation in the Arab world. It aims to promote cultural and intellectual diversity by highlighting voices, images and ideas that would not otherwise be seen on mainstream stages in France and abroad.

The LEILA website is currently funded by the Institut Français within the framework of its programme Livre des deux rives.

The Institut Français is a public institution tasked with developing France’s cultural action abroad, working closely with French cultural networks worldwide. It promotes French language, culture, and ideas, and the mobility of artists throughout the world, all the while striving for cultural diversity.

The Livre des deux rives programme aims to foster dialogue between civil societies on both shores of the Mediterranean by promoting cooperation in the book sector.
