Noémie Coppey is a French translator of Arabic literature. She holds a master’s degree in literary translation (INALCO, Paris), during which she worked on the Omani writer Jokha Alharthi and Eritrean writer Abu Bakr Khaal. She has translated several poems by Heba Alagha in a Palestinian poetry collection, as well as a poem by Yahya Ashour and excerpts from Abu Bakr Khaal’s novel African Titanics in Café magazine. She participated in 2024-2025 in a workshop on the collaborative translation of Fatma ben Slimane’s thesis (Tunis and Paris), and in 2026 in a long-form residency at the CITL in Arles to work on the french translation of Basma Abdelaziz’s novel Al-Tabuur (The Queue).
