Aymen Gharbi was born in 1981 in Tunisia. His first novel Magma Tunis (2018, Asphalte) was followed by La Ville des impasses (2021, Asphalte), which he wrote during a writing residency in Montpellier. His third novel, Le centre d’appel des écrivains disparus (Asphalte), will be published in March 2023.

He completed two translation residencies organised by the International Center for Literary Translation based in Arles. From November 2022 to February 2023, he was one of the translators selected for a professionalisation workshop.

In 2024, he participated in the Insanyet translation programme in Tunis.
