Founded originally as a bookshop, writer and journalist Rasha Hilwi, designer and artistic director Fadi Abdelnour, and writer Mohammad Rabie opened Khan Aljanub in 2020 in Berlin, Germany.

Khan Aljanub sells fiction, poetry, biography, history, philosophy, children’s books, and graphic novels, sourcing from a wide variety of Arab publishing houses. As well as the physical bookshop with a garden where events are held, books are also sold online.

Khan Aljanub recently began publishing books, such as the latest by Ahmed Naji, Dellair Youssef, or Hilal Chouman.
