Noemí Fierro Bandera (Alicante, Spain, 1976) holds three degrees in Hispanic Philology, History, and Arabic Philology. She has been a full-time translator since 2013. She has lived in a variety of Arab countries including Yemen, Syria, Kuwait, and Libya. She earned an advanced degree in Arabic from the Official School for Languages in Alicante, and she was also the recipient of a Bachelor´s Degree Extraordinary Award in Arabic Philology upon her graduation from the University of Alicante. So far, she has translated over fifteen books ranging from novels and poetry to essays. These include, among others, works by ‘Abdul Hadi Sa’dun (Iraq), Saeed Khatibi (Algeria), Taleb al-Rifai (Kuwait), Najwa Bin Shatwan (Libya), Hani Naqshabandi (Saudi Arabia), and ‘Ala’ al-Aswani (Egypt).
